Is Siri Enough to Buy a New iPhone 4S?

We all enjoy a little bit of interaction with our technology and fortunately Apple has realised this and added the amazingly innovative Siri to the iOS 5’s list of ingenious offerings. Older iPhone models are able to update to iOS 5 and make use of many of the new features such as Find my Friends and iMessage, but Siri is the one feature that is restricted to the iPhone 4S only.

So, what is Siri and is it worth the cost of a new iPhone 4S contract?

Well Siri is a very advanced kind of voice recognition software, which allows users to do virtually anything they wish to do on the iPhone with the power of their voice. This technology is obviously a huge step forwards from the Google Voice technology that has been present on Android for some time now. You are not limited to having to change the way you call something due to pronunciation issues as Siri comes with the ability to learn how a person pronounces a word and then adapts for the next time. This is obviously a huge leap into the artificial intelligence area for iPhone and iOS 5 and will win many over.

The new technology can do everything from make voice calls to change currency over just through the power of voice. You can also check your stocks or arrange a meeting to be placed in your calendar. Siri will not just follow you commands but also offer you some helpful advice too. Perhaps a meeting you are trying to enter into the calendar clashes with a prior arrangement, Siri will inform you of this and suggest another date and time. This is a leap from the limited abilities of older voice controls and its inclusiveness could be its golden factor.

The technology is also programmed with a number of ingenious responses and saying certain things to the iPhone 4s will mean a retort of a smart alec variety in some cases. Telling Siri you love your iPhone is met with the response, ‘I hope you don’t say that to all the other phones.’

It may turn out to be another feature that many people do not really use on a day to day basis, as FaceTime was on the iPhone 4, but at the very least it provides an enjoyable new entertainment feature on the iPhone 4S. iPhone 5 to Launch in a Matter of Weeks!

There seems to be little more in the technology news at present than the coming of the iPhone 5. The new Apple phone is a huge draw and is certain to be the best selling phone in the UK for a long time after it has been released. This phone has been subject to more rumours than JFKs’ death so what are the most likely things to be included in the device upon release of iPhone 5 deals?

Well Apple will take a lot of the goodies from the iPad 2 and use them in the smaller iPhone 5. This would mean the new iPhone is well endowed in the technology area and more than capable of all sorts of super phone abilities. This new A5 chip would mean the phone is more than capable to smoothly run the multitasking and the browsing required ensuring the phone is up with the best in terms of performance.

Expect the device to also have a change in shape. Rumours would suggest that the phone will come with an aluminium back that wraps around the front to create a bezel for the front screen. The thought of this seems aesthetically attractive and also would give the phone a sturdier appeal than that of last year’s iPhone 4.

The screen will also be larger because of this. This new wrap around ability would mean the phone can have a larger screen without any worries about an increase in the size of the phone. We would imagine this will make the phone that little bit more streamlined while still offering a better display for web browsing and entertainment than the now-rather-constricting Retina Display of the iPhone 4. The iPhone 5 will certainly be an attractive prospect and we hope even if screen size increases the Retina quality of 326 pixels per square inch won’t be affected.

Camera increases are also on the horizon and there will more than likely be a rise in the size of pixels to be used in the camera – we expect an 8mp camera capable of 1080p footage to be the bare minimum on offer with the iPhone 5. This would be a large improvement for Apple and would certainly be a positive for anyone who purchases the phone.

The front facing camera will most likely get some improvements too, even though FaceTime has not proved to be quite as popular as Apple would have hoped when it was launched alongside the iPhone 4. Perhaps Apple will have some new camera feature to show off with the iPhone 5, we shall have to wait and see.

The iPhone 5 will also run on iOS 5 and benefit from all the upgrades made to the new operating system. Expect to see more wireless compatibility and more iCloud related features as well as some layout changes. The interface will now come with an improved notification system along with the BlackBerry Messenger style messaging system known as iMessage. Like BBM, iMessage is device dependant – you can only use it on an iPhone. While it may go down well with existing iPhone users it might not be enough to win over the hardcore BlackBerry Messenger addicts.

A mid-October release has been suspected for quite some time now. Apple CEO Tim Cook is due to give a keynote speech on the 4th of October, which can’t realistically be for anything other than an iPhone unveiling. Besides which, employees of Apple stores in the UK have just been told that they are forbidden from taking time off work in the first two weeks of October, making an imminent iPhone 5 release just weeks away.

During last few days I came through many people’s story who earned a huge amount from just developing iPhone apps.
